Who is more at risk of heart attack? Dr. Abida Sultana (MBBS) 


There are some things that can be controlled and some things that cannot be controlled.

 

(1) Heart attacks do not occur at all ages. Usually this disease can be more in middle age or old age. But that doesn't mean that young children don't have this problem. Their risk is relatively low.

 

(2) The risk of heart attack increases due to smoking and drinking.

 

(3) If someone has a family history of heart attack, the risk of heart attack is very high.

 

(4) Mens usually have more than Womens.

 

(5) Diabetes, high blood pressure, hyper lipidemia etc. can cause heart attack.


(6) Overweight or obesity due to lack of physical activity is a cause of heart attack.

 

(7) Eating more fatty foods and eating less vegetables and fiber.

 

(8) As a result of excessive stress or disturbance.

 

(9) As a result of taking birth control pills or any other hormone regulating drugs.


 

What To do if Heart Attack happen:

 

Don't panic if you have a sudden heart attack. Cough quickly, forcefully and frequently, so that phlegm comes out with the cough. Take a deep breath before each cough. Keep coughing and sighing like this every two minutes. This will make your heart pump blood more regularly.It will provide a lot of support to the patient before admission to the hospital. Because breathing increases the oxygen transport in our body and the pressure on the chest caused by frequent coughing prepares the heart for adequate and regular blood circulation.

 

 

 

If someone has a heart attack, taking some measures quickly can reduce the severity of the disease-

1) Painkillers (usually aspirin) should be administered first.

2) Take to the hospital as soon as possible

3) Check if the patient is having trouble breathing

4) If the heart stops beating, CPR should be applied.

 

Ways to prevent Heart Attack:

1) Follow a healthy diet.

2) Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.

3) It is necessary to exercise regularly to maintain blood pressure. As a result, just as the blood pressure is correct, so is the weight. 

4) Smoking and tobacco products must be avoided.

5) Avoid excess stress.
