What is a Mouth Sore?

 
Mouth ulcers, also called Apthous Ulcers. Small, shallow lesions that occur in the soft tissues of the mouth or at the base of the gums, on the inner surface of the lips. A small round part becomes whitish. And sometimes pus accumulates in the white part. There is a light border around the pus. Round or small oval shaped areas. These lesions are caused by the erosion of the lining of the mouth, called the mucous membrane. This sore is not contagious but it hurts, it is difficult to eat and talk.
 

Symptoms

 

• Pain, burning, mild itching (if pus accumulates) around the apthous ulcer.

 

• Sometimes these sores occur in multiple areas of the mouth. Then it may be difficult to swallow food, speak or yawn.

 

• Many people may have a little drooling from this sore due to excessive burning.

 

Why Mouth Sores occur?

 

This kind of sore can occur while eating hot food or drink or if you are bitten on the inside of the cheek. These are very common causes of mouth ulcers. Apart from this, Fever, Anaemia, Food allergy, Burns, Stress, xcess acidity, lack of vitamins are some of the causes of mouth sores. Again, lack of vitamins can cause such sores. A very hard brush or using the wrong dentures can also cause sores in the mouth. Some digestive system problems and some autoimmune diseases cause mouth sores. Apart from that, it can lead to fungal infection in the tongue.

A lack of iron and vitamin B complex in the blood can also cause such sores.

In addition, there are other reasons that can cause such sores:

 

* Deficiency of iron and vitamin B complex in the blood can cause mouth sores.

* Some blood disorders can also cause this problem.

* Allergic problems can cause mouth sores.

* Mouth ulcers may occur due to excessive anxiety.

* These sores can become infected after a sudden cut in the cheek or lip muscle by a tooth blow.

* Drug, Alcohol abusers may have this rash due to reduced immune system. But it is not a contagious disease.

* This problem can also be caused by excess drinking, betel leaves, skin peeling inside the mouth, loss of gums or soft muscles of the mouth.

* Some cancer patients develop these sores due to chromosomal problems.

* Infection at the root of the tooth, and many people may have this problem repeatedly during pregnancy.

 

What to do to prevent mouth sores-

 

* Cleanliness of mouth should be maintained. Stay away from Betel nut, Gul, Tobacco Leaves, Alcohol, excess Tea, Coffee.

* Iron and vitamin B complex tablets should be taken.

* If there is any abdominal cramp, it should be treated. Mouth sores can also be caused by stomach ailments.

*Dehydration, uncontrolled diabetes and dental caries should be treated quickly.

* Clean your mouth regularly with mouthwash. Or rinse with lukewarm water with salt.

* If the pain is more, you must consult a doctor.

 

Home Remedies to Prevent Mouth Sores

 

● 'JasthiModhu' is a very effective ingredient to remove mouth sores. One tablespoon of 'JasthiModhu' should be soaked in two cups of water and rinsed with it several times. It is quite effective.

 

● Aloe vera gel or Aloe vera juice can reduce mouth sores. Aloe vera gel is a natural antiseptic, with antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral properties that can reduce soreness.

● Mix one tablespoon of coconut milk with honey and apply this mixture on the affected area three to four times a day. You can also massage the wound with just coconut milk without honey. The wound will heal quickly.

 

● Put some coconut oil on a cotton ball and apply it on the sores on the face. The anti-microbial properties of coconut oil will help heal the sores.

● Drinking water with a few Tulshi leaves three to four times a day helps prevent mouth sores quickly. And will reduce the incidence of mouth sores.

 

● Tea bags are very effective in relieving pain and irritation quickly. A tea bag soaked in cold water and applied to the affected area will help heal the pain and wounds faster.

 

● You can also gargle with salt water, this will help prevent mouth infections. A piece of clove placed in the mouth, clove juice applied to the affected area is beneficial.

● Applying a piece of ice on the affected area or gargling it with cold water can give good results.
