A Heart Attack, also called a Myocardial lnfarction,
occurs when a part of the heart muscle does not get enough blood.
The longer a Heart Attack is delayed in seeking
treatment, the greater the damage to the Heart muscle. Coronary artery disease
(CAD) is the leading cause of Heart Attacks. A common cause is a severe spasm
or sudden narrowing of the coronary arteries, which can cut off blood flow to
the heart muscle.
Heart Attack Symptoms
● Chest pain or discomfort. Most heart attacks involve
discomfort in the middle or left side of the chest that lasts more than a few
minutes or comes and goes. May feel like discomfort, uncomfortable pressure,
pressure, fullness, or pain.
● Feeling weak, dizzy or faint.
● Pain or discomfort in the jaw, neck, hand or back.
● There may be pain or discomfort in one or both arms or
shoulders.
● May cause shortness of breath. It often causes chest
discomfort but may also be preceded by shortness of breath.
● Other symptoms of a heart attack may include unusual
fatigue and nausea or vomiting. Women are more likely to have these other
symptoms.
Why do Heart Attacks happen?
If the amount of cholesterol in the body increases, the
risk of Heart attack increases. There are two types of cholesterol in the body.
Good and bad cholesterol. An increase in bad cholesterol in your body increases
the risk of Heart attack. Deterioration of lifestyle and bad diet leads to high
cholesterol in the body.
Some other causes of Heart Attack are-
1. Overexertion, which the body is not used to.
2. Exercising after overeating.
3. Excessive smoking.
4. Insomnia
5. Worry too much.
6. Getting suddenly excited or angry.
7. Any type of infection in the body.
