Hormonal changes during puberty affect the sebaceous glands. As a result, acne problems arise. Parents should let the child know from the beginning that acne, rash, blemishes etc. will get better on their own. So don't worry too much about them. Even when acne heals on its own, scars remain that are difficult to remove. So attention should be given to this matter from the beginning.

What should do

• In adolescence, boys and girls tend to use various cosmetics that damage the skin. Skin should be cleaned properly and toner and moisturizer should be used. It has good skin. But these cosmetics must be suitable for the skin.

• Acne, cysts or boils etc. occur due to various reasons such as excess oily food, hormonal influence, oil secretion etc. in adolescence. Diet plays a good role in these problems.

• Oily foods increase the risk of breakouts. Studies have shown that protein, dairy products, etc. can make acne problems worse.

• Sometimes acne problems are quite difficult to solve. Hormonal acne can be severe and difficult to get rid of.

Many women experience hormonal problems during puberty. As a result acne, hair loss, weight gain, excess body hair problems occur. So parents must take this kind of problem seriously.

Cleansing is essential (removes excess oil and dead skin cells and helps keep pores open)

After exercise or physical activity, the skin must be cleaned well. Because sweat clogs skin pores and causes acne.

Skin must be cleansed quickly after sweating due to heat or after eating oily food and hard work. Otherwise acne problem will occur.

Other things to remember about acne problems

When choosing skin cosmetics such as lotions or makeup, choose cosmetics that are not 'non-comedogenic' or 'acnegenic'. They do not clog pores. As a result, skin problems do not occur.

When using 'styling gel' or hair spray on hair, care should be taken to keep it away from the skin of the face. The addition of oil in hair cosmetics makes the problem of skin acne more serious. So water based cosmetics should be used.

If you have back or chest acne problems, you should avoid wearing tight clothing, which causes inflammation in the affected area.

Popping or pressing the pimples causes pitting in the affected area. Besides, swelling and redness increases. Pimples can also cause permanent scarring.

Dermatologists usually recommend using cosmetics containing benzoyl peroxide, retinoids, salicylic acid to treat acne.

So until the skin becomes acne free, it should be continued with the advice of skin specialist.
